‘Haas Halo’ is an unusual smooth hydrangea with large, lacecap-style flower heads made up of numerous small fertile flowers surrounded by larger white florets. The blooms can create a broad, airy display above the green foliage and are especially attractive to pollinators. Unlike the enormous mophead flower clusters of some hydrangeas, ‘Haas Halo’ has a more naturalistic, open appearance that works well in woodland-inspired borders and mixed shrub plantings. It is a North American native species selection and can be cut back in late winter or early spring because it flowers on new growth.
