Beautyberry ‘Pearl Glam’ (callicarpa)
An upright, relatively compact beautyberry with clusters of bright violet-purple berries along the stems. The berries are the main attraction and become especially striking in late summer and fall. Dark foliage and a tidy habit make this cultivar useful even in smaller landscapes.
Size: approximately 4–5 ft. tall × 4–5 ft. wide.
Bloom time: June–July.
Flower color: Small pink/lavender flowers.
Fruit: Brilliant purple berries in late summer and fall.
Foliage: Green, becoming yellowish in fall.
Best feature: Heavy display of vivid purple berries.
The berries are particularly effective after the leaves begin to drop, when the colored fruit stands out against the bare branches.
